Hi Sally,
Nice article at CNN.com - I feel like I'm playing hooky when I take a day off from work, let alone when I retire! My parents have retired in the last few years, and they both seem to be staying pretty busy - Mom takes classes and Dad does home improvement stuff on their home & their cottage in VT.
I was unemployed for awhile in 2002, and I found that the more free time I had, the more time I wasted on useless things, as though I thought I had all the time in the world, so I didn't need to accomplish anything. I started volunteering at a gubernatorial campaign, which was fantastic and I still have very fond memories of, and then was able to control the rest of my time because it was basically cut in half. Does that make sense? I guess it's human nature.
I'm so glad to hear that things are really coming together for you. You knew they would, it was just a matter of time. Nice that you can sympathize with your new neighbors - that probably helps, too.
Take care -
Tricia
