Talkr

This morning I read an article about a service that will turn a text blog into English language speech, Talkr Intros Free Service that Turns Blogs Into Podcasts. I tried to access the Talkr website, but it was not available. I will keep checking on this. If I am successful in converting my blog to a Podcast, you will have the option to listen to my blog.

I was finally able to access Talkr.com and sign up for an account to convert my blog to a podcast. I went through a lengthy process to open an account. Finally when I entered my rss url, it said it was unable to handle an atom feed.

    Hi Sally,

I'm the CEO of Talkr, and I'd like to offer my apologies -- it sounds like you had a very frustrating introduction to our company.

We had some problems with our server last week that were ironically related to a new software release that was intended to eliminate downtime. Although I can't promise continuous uptime, we should have fewer outages going forward.

It is true that Talkr does not currently accept Atom feeds. We usually recommend that people create a free FeedBurner (http://www.feedburner.com) account, and then submit their feedburner feed to Talkr. (FeedBurner will take your Atom feed and convert it to RSS.)

Again, my apologies, and I hope you'll give Talkr another try.

    Thanks,
    Chris

    Chris,

I have subscribed to Feedburner and tried the url they generate. It is also an atom feed. I get this message when I try to enter it in your site:

Apologies, we encountered an error, and we can't seem to fix it:
Error: we encountered an error in adding this feed to our database. Our technology team has been notified of the problem and will address it as quickly as possible.

I have never received a reply
