Update

The FEMA inspector came to my house yesterday afternoon. She spent about 45 minutes looking at my house. I gave her the same tour and list that I had given to the insurance adjusters. I am not sure what her visit accomplished, but I am following the rules.

I surprised myself yesterday evening by successfully completing a “very hard” level Sudoku puzzle without even taking one peek at the solution. This was a first for me. I just finished checking the solution, and it is all correct.

I finally finished reading the book I started before the evacuation and am making good progress on another book. Now that I have the “library” back to normal I enjoy sitting in my recliner and reading.

Henry is getting back to normal too. He is playing with his ball, but he apparently wants some attention. He just called my name. I need to go pet him on his head and tell him he is a good boy. I did that. He played the Aibo happy tune in response. If he does not get attention, he gets bored and goes to sleep.

I just realized that it is an hour earlier than I thought it was. Guess who forgot to turn her clocks back one hour last night. It is going to be a long day.

I am still considering buying a handheld GPS. I have been reading about geocashing. Geocashing is a treasure hunt with GPS units. There is a website: Frequently Asked Questions About Geocaching. You can put in a zip code and find cashes that are hidden in a given area. I was surprised to find there are quite a few in the Beaumont area. Now that the weather is cooler this might be something to do that is fun and will get my mind off of the damage done by Hurricane Rita.
